EQUIPMENT
It was a single event
that forever changed the photography format in which TSP shoots; digital.
After years of shooting primarily film, Therp photographed an event (a very
special event for personal use) and there was a problem with the film.
The event was a once-in-a-lifetime event and it was forever lost due to a
technical problem. That very weekend a decade ago, Therp went and purchased
his first digital camera. His first but certainly not his last one.
For the work you find
on the site he TSP uses mainly digital but film is still used for some clients.
Other equipment details
fit in the scheme of Therp Sajik's vision of using non-traditional methods
(he paints without brushes and most of the time without canvas; with vinyl
on wood). His lighting is provided by several companies and details
will be provided soon here for your review.
For most client work
that falls outside the equipment I own, I use agency provided locked cameras.
These are tamper proof cameras where the final work is sitting inside the
digital camera and once the shoot is finished, I give-up the cameras.
For my own outside
work I use several cameras (but own three other much older cameras I will
discuss later):
- FILM Minolta X-370 (Full manual)
semi-retired
- FILM Pentax P-Z-10 (28-80mm automatic)
semi-retired
- DIGITAL SONY FD series (adwork camera)
retired
- DIGITAL SONY Pro-91 (37-515mm super-zoom
lens; MP) semi-retired
- DIGITAL SONY F-707 (38-190mm) 5x optical;
all-glass Carl Zeiss F2-2.4 zoom lens 5.24 megapixel; TTL autofocus with
new hologram laser AF assist; Three shot burst mode at 2fps; Multi-pattern,
Center-weighted or Spot metering; high-speed scan autofocus and a new "hologram"
focusing assist device to insure properly focused pictures no matter what
the light levels are. This new autofocus system uses a Class 1 laser to paint
a grid pattern on the subject.
- DIGITAL SONY F-828 (28-200mm; 7x optical)
The SONY "Dark Angel" 8.14 megapixel; encased in a black, magnesium alloy
body, and is the first to incorporate Sony's recently announced four-color
filter CCD technology and Real Imaging Processor; Sony's exclusive NightShot®
Infrared mode to capture infrared images in total darkness at a distance
of up to 15 feet. And the Night Framing mode to capture crisp images in low
or no light, this feature illuminates the subject with the Night Shot system
for proper framing, focuses with Hologram AF illuminator and lights the scene
with the appropriate amount of flash. In a word; AWESOME !
- DIGITAL CANON EOS 30D. The time has
come to grab the latest and greatest from Canon and run with it. TSP
recently acquired this high-speed 8 megapixel camera to use for custom shoots.
This camera has Canon's best new technology with their established base of
robust photography equipment. Our camera shoots 5 shots-per-second
for 10 seconds for a total of 50 shots. It shoots in both JPG, RAW,
and both at the same time. We have made a $3,000 investment in support
equipment to ensure the highest quality from these new features.
